MODEL PENAL CODE
In the cases designated in Section 7.03, a person who has been convicted of a felony may be sentenced to an extended term of imprisonment, as follows:
(1) in the case of a felony of the first degree, for a term the minimum of which shall be fixed by the Court at not less than five years nor more than ten years, and the maximum of which shall be life imprisonment;
(2) in the case of a felony
of the second degree, for a term the minimum of which shall be
fixed by the Court at not less than one year nor more than five years,
and the maximum of which shall be fixed by the Court at not less than ten
nor more than twenty years;
(3) in the case of a felony
of the third degree, for a term the minimum of which shall be fixed
by the Court at not less than one year nor more than three years, and the
maximum of which shall be fixed by the Court at not less than five nor
more than ten years.
